Spacewar?
Spacewar? is a game I made in around 10 hours for the Lost Cartridge Jam 2021. It is very loosely based on Spacewar!, and was made in GB Studio. I would have preferred to include the original game, but I had neither the time nor skill to do that. In regards to the theming of the Jam, the story behind this cartridge is that it was made as a proof of concept for a larger arcade game based on Spacewar, with multiplayer, more enemies and levels, and additional features. Upon being received, it was looked over and garnered a positive reaction, but was forgotten and the plans for the arcade game fell through.

I like the game, the music and art is great and remind me of Gameboy color games! Sadly the game is slightly underwhelming, it is fun for a few minutes, but I think it could've had more content in it. But other than that, it's very faithful of Gameboy games and I think it's cool!
Nice game, but there seems to be a bug where, after firing a few shots, up and down movement stop working for a while. Testing from a browser, firing using the <ALT> key.
Yeah I experienced that a bit while testing, not sure how to fix it. Thanks for the report though!

Is it possible to play this in the browser using keyboard or mouse?
Yes, you can use the up or down arrows to move and alt to fire, or w and s to move and space to fire.
Seems like space-to-fire doesn't work but pressing space did let me start the game. Thanks!
